A Little About Me

Hair Artist · Educator · Davines Partner

Amanda Joy Pearson

I earned my cosmetology license in January 2011, training at the Aveda Institute right here in Seattle. From there, I dove into advanced education with the renowned Gary Manuel Salon and Aveda before returning to the institute to pursue another passion: teaching. I became a licensed educator in 2013 and have carried that love of learning — both giving and receiving — through every chapter of my career.

In 2017, I took the leap and began building my own practice, creating a space where craft, sustainability, and genuine connection come first. I partnered with Davines, a company whose commitment to sustainable beauty and responsible business aligns with my own values. Every product behind my chair is chosen with care.

Today you can find me at The Shell Collective, a studio I co-founded inside The Golden Rule Collective in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. The Shell is a reflection of everything I've been working toward: a warm, intentional space where guests can slow down, feel seen, and leave feeling like the best version of themselves.

I specialize in balayage, dimensional color, and precision cuts. With over 15 years behind the chair, I'm always refining my craft, always learning. I work with all hair types, textures, ages, and genders. Every appointment starts with listening.
